How we advertise · Gold Coast & Brisbane

More of the right work.
Not just more clicks.

Advertising should support the jobs you want and the margins you need. We connect the customer path from the first click to an enquiry, a site visit, an approved quote and a recorded decision.

A managed service, not a lead list or standalone software. Scope and terms depend on the industry and the offer you agree.

01 / Before advertising

The campaign starts with your business.

A full repaint and an emergency call-out are different buying decisions. So are a split-system replacement and a ducted installation. Define what is suitable before deciding what a lead is worth.

Jobs and economics

Preferred work, average contract value, variable job costs and the contribution left to cover marketing and overheads.

Customer and area

Who needs the work, why now, where you can operate, and what they need to compare before choosing you.

Evidence and capacity

Genuine project photos and business details, existing enquiry outcomes, available site visits and the work your team can deliver.

Review relevant search demand, competitor offers and the current bottleneck. Agree a test hypothesis, budget limit and review point. If the figures or capacity do not support advertising, fix that problem first.

02 / Each channel has a job

Choose a role.
Then choose a channel.

Google Ads

Meet existing intent.

Reach people searching for a service you actually provide in an area you can serve. Match search terms, exclusions, ads and the destination page.

Review: suitable enquiry cost, booked visits and quote outcomes, not just click cost.

Meta Ads

Help customers discover the work.

Use genuine project evidence and a clear offer to reach homeowners who may not be searching yet. Qualification matters as much as the number of form fills.

Review: enquiry fit, contactability and movement toward a visit and decision.

Website & local presence

Help them check and choose you.

Clear service pages, real work, accurate business information and an easy next step support confidence after the click. Local search and referrals can also bring enquiries.

Scope: ongoing SEO, social posting, photography and video are not automatically included. Agree additional work separately.

You do not have to run both advertising channels. Paid ads and organic search are different routes; buying ads does not buy an organic ranking. Channel mix and additional services follow the agreed scope, not a blanket package of everything.

03 / From attention to a decision

The click is the beginning.

A relevant enquiry still needs a next step. The managed process connects the stages around your site visits, using the responsibilities and response expectations agreed for your trade.

  1. 01

    Ad to relevant page

The job and area in the ad match the page. Customers can check the service, genuine evidence and what happens next without searching a generic company page.

  2. 02

    Enquiry to suitable appointment

Check location, job type, timing and fit. Book an available visit rather than treating every form fill as qualified work.

  3. 03

    Assessment to approved proposal

You assess the property, confirm the technical scope and set the price. We prepare the agreed proposal from your approved information.

  4. 04

    Follow-up to recorded outcome

Confirm receipt, route questions and agree the next step. Respect contact permissions and customer timing; stop on a decline or opt-out. Record won, lost or not yet separately.

04 / Know the cost

What could 3, 4 or 5 painting jobs leave you?

See what could remain while working with Quotewright, after painting labour, materials, ad spend and our management fee. Margin is calculated from the job costs. Compare three monthly job-count scenarios, not promised results.

The $2,000 example is informed by prior painting-campaign experience. Changing the budget does not predict a different job count.

Two painters × four working days × $400 per painter per day = $3,200 labour. Materials are set at $1,000, a cautious allowance for this example. Change these figures to match your own jobs.

Include your own painting labour if it is not already part of the crew cost. Add applicable labour on-costs, subcontractors, travel, equipment and other job costs here; the defaults do not include them separately.

Compare 3, 4 or 5 jobs won and delivered in the modelled month while working with Quotewright. These examples are informed by prior painting-campaign experience, not audited performance, a forecast or guaranteed outcomes.

Fees exclude GST; use the same GST basis for your job values and costs. Published painting terms currently require at least $2,500 monthly ad spend. The $2,000 scenario does not change those terms or establish eligibility.

How the scenarios are calculated

Direct costs per job = painter day rate × crew size × working days + materials + other direct costs. Margin is calculated from job value minus those direct costs, divided by job value. It is not a margin you have to guess or enter.

Amount left = job count × (job value − direct job costs) − ad budget − management − optional setup. Setup is counted once when selected. Fixed overheads, tax, payment timing and costs you have not entered are excluded. No other marketing costs are included.

The three job counts are fixed comparison scenarios, not predictions linked to the budget. The default job value and costs reflect the example discussed with the business owner, not independently verified market averages. These figures do not establish that every business will achieve 3–5 jobs.

Working days assume one crew completing jobs sequentially, not person-days, guaranteed delivery capacity or a guaranteed time to win work. Revenue assumes the selected jobs are delivered at the entered value; it is not a cash-flow forecast.

This models an ordinary paid-service month. The published proof period and any fee-free time are not modelled. Installation businesses have a separate calculator and separately agreed fees.

Calculation stays in your browser. Inputs are not submitted or saved to an account. No job count, revenue or profit is guaranteed.

For the painting-specific budget explanation, read how much painters should spend on ads. Published painter pricing and proof-period terms remain specific to the painting offer and are not an air conditioning quote.

05 / Decide what to change

Improve the weak stage.
Not just the budget.

Wrong enquiries?

Review job types, geography, search terms, creative and qualification.

Enquiries, but no visits?

Review response handling, available slots and how the next step is offered.

Visits, but no decisions?

Review quote timing, scope clarity, customer fit and agreed follow-up.

Won work, but weak margin?

Review job costs and total acquisition cost before buying more volume.

Keep the enquiry source connected to the visit, quote and confirmed outcome. Compare a consistent cohort and allow for the time customers take to decide.

Agree when to review, change, pause or expand. Scale only when the evidence, job economics and available capacity support it. A handful of leads or one strong day is not proof of predictable returns.

Responsibilities

Your accounts.
Your scope.
Your approval.

  • Advertising runs from accounts in your name, with agreed access and spend limits.
  • You provide genuine work evidence and approve business, technical and pricing claims.
  • Agree who handles enquiries, booking, proposals and follow-up before launch.
  • Define the included costs, useful reporting and review points.
  • Apply the published industry-specific conditions, not a universal revenue guarantee.

Painting and air conditioning are different service-fit decisions. Installation design, licensed work and warranty commitments remain with the contractor. We do not guarantee sales, net profit, Google rankings or a particular cost per lead.

Questions

Before you spend.

Should my trade business use Google Ads or Meta Ads?

They have different roles. Google can meet people actively searching for a relevant service; Meta can introduce work and project evidence before someone searches. Start with your job types, area, capacity and customer decision process, then test a manageable channel and review suitable enquiries and won work. Both channels are not compulsory.

Is SEO or social media posting included?

Not automatically. A useful website, genuine project evidence and accurate local business information support customer confidence. Ongoing SEO, social account management, photography, video and other additional work must be specifically included in the agreed scope; explaining a channel does not add it to the package.

Does the calculator predict how many jobs I will win?

No. The painting planner compares fixed scenarios of 3, 4 or 5 jobs won and delivered in a modelled month. Examples are informed by prior painting-campaign experience, not independently verified market averages or guaranteed outcomes. Default job value is $9,500, with two painters at $400 per day for four days plus $1,000 materials. Adjust the job costs to calculate your margin. Advertising, management and optional setup are then deducted. The remaining amount is not net profit: fixed overheads, tax, payment timing and costs not entered are excluded. Changing the ad budget does not predict a new job count.

Are ad spend and the Quotewright fee the same cost?

No. Ad spend is paid to the advertising platforms from your accounts. The service fee pays for the agreed managed work. Include both, plus applicable setup and other acquisition costs, when assessing the economics. Use the same period and GST basis and do not count the same work twice.

Do painter prices and the proof period also apply to air conditioning?

Not automatically. Published painter fees, qualification and proof-period conditions belong to the painting offer. Air conditioning scope, fees, advertising budget and any proof conditions must be agreed separately in writing before work begins.

How do you decide whether to increase the budget?

Review suitable enquiries, attended visits, quote outcomes, included acquisition costs and the margin and capacity for more work. Agree test limits and review points first. If targeting or conversion is weak, address that stage before adding traffic. Small samples and delayed quote decisions should not be treated as conclusive ROI evidence.
